If there's one thing small business owners Mike Okupinkski and Ed Buffington know, it's the importance of community. With the support of their neighborhood, their boutique retail spot for craft beer and wine, The Community Tap, was welcomed into a larger retail space right outside of downtown Greenville in 2014 - four years after its inception in 2010. Featuring a relaxed atmosphere, and a friendly vibe, The Community Tap has become a go-to place for locals to purchase and enjoy unique brews, select wines and to take home their favorites in branded growlers. What's even better is the partnership with various food trucks to provide a rotating menu for guests each night of the week - perfect for summertime hangouts with friends. The Community Tap truly does bring together all types of beer and wine lovers through their schedule of events hosted at its venue. Tastings are a monthly staple, with collaborations between wineries and breweries from the region and their staff showcasing different styles of reds, whites and craft beers that are worth sharing. Their biggest, annual draw is their craft beer festival held in the spring and hosted at the Fluor Field at the West End. What's coming up for The Community Tap? Well, first is the Birthday Bash with GVLtoday on July 1st to celebrate milestones for each business with beer (of course), giant water pong, food trucks, popsicles and music. It's open to all ages and it's FREE to everyone! Be sure to click the image below to visit the GVLtoday website for tickets. The next big adventure relates to plans to open a second location along the Swamp Rabbit Trail in a new marketplace of mixed-use retail. Though nothing has been confirmed for openings and timing, the concept would be similar to that of the current location.
Cheers, and see you #atthetap!
