Hi there! We are the Liquid Catering Interns for Summer 2015. Here's a little bit about the two of us and our first couple weeks on the job. Emily Neal is a Greenville native who graduated with the Class of 2015 from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Communication Studies and Studio Art with a minor in Corporate Strategy. She has spent many summers in Greenville during her college career by interning and working with local companies, such as TK PR, Table 301 and euphoria. Sydney Reinhardt comes to Greenville from Madison, WI. She will graduate in December 2015 from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Communication Arts. This is her first time in the South and her first internship. She is looking forward to experiencing a variety of events, the humidity and sweet tea. The first two weeks with Liquid Catering has been a whirlwind to say the least! We kept hearing, “Yeah, you interns started on a really crazy week,” or, “This week is just super busy,” and they were certainly right. With a crazy first couple of weeks behind us, there was certainly a lot to learn right off the bat! After orientation and a chance to meet everybody, the week was jam-packed. Right away we got to experience what a busy week means for Liquid Catering and The Old Cigar Warehouse: meetings, prepping for events, and of course our daily office work! This particular week we were prepping for a ScanSource event at the Upcountry History Museum for 500 guests. We got to help owner, Tammy make 500 bottles full with yummy Peach Margarita Moonshine for the guests. They were absolutely delicious— and we don’t think that was Dark Corner Distillery’s Peach Shine talking! That Wednesday was the big event and we truly got to see how this team gets stuff done! The Liquid Catering team is one of the most efficient teams we’ve ever seen. They work like a well-oiled machine - even with two new interns! Working the event as a cocktail server was really fun and exhausting. We loved that we were constantly moving and doing something, whether it was bussing, getting drinks for guests or restocking glassware, there was always something to do! At the end of the event we quickly packed up and got on our way back to Liquid Catering. All in all it was over a 13-hour day and a job well done!
Since then, we’ve begun working events with both Liquid Catering and The Old Cigar Warehouse and so far, so good! We’re excited to see what else this summer has in store for us and we’re looking forward to spending our summer in beautiful Greenville! Interns OUT! Emily and Sydney
