Liquid Catering is happy to be able to offer cash bars to clients or organizations that are on a limited budget. In the state of South Carolina, we can sell beer and wine at an off-site event if the applicable permits are filed. If the client is a non-profit, they may elect to purchase a Special Event Alcohol Permit themselves so liquor drinks can be sold. With a cash bar option, the client is billed for the staff, while Liquid Catering provides the portable bar, alcohol, equipment, insurance and permitting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of alcohol can be sold?
With SC laws, a special event permit must be obtained for each event, an ABL-900. We are able to get the permit for beer and wine events, but only a non-profit can get a permit for liquor to be sold. In that instance, the non-profit would need to get the permit themselves.
How far out do i need to book a cash bar?
In order to get a license in time for your event, we recommend you book us at least 30 days in advance. In some instances we may be able to get a permit rushed, but the more notice the better!
How much will you sell drinks for?
We typically sell domestic beer for $4, premium beers for $5, wine for $6, and sodas & bottled water for $2. If the client wishes to provide free sodas for their guests, we can provide a hosted soda service for $1.00 per guest.
Do i get to pick our beer and wine?
Although we are happy to take requests, with a cash bar we reserve the right to pick what will be sold based on our current inventory since we have no guarantees we'll sell anything at all. We usually bring 2-3 domestic beers, 2-3 premium beers and 3-4 wine selections.
Can i keep the proceeds?
With a cash bar, we retain all the proceeds from our sales. We have to pay taxes on the sales, secure the licensing, plus pay for the actual product and staff. If you are looking to profit off the bar at your event, we can talk more about how you can do that legally.
Do you take credit cards at the event?
We do! We use a mobile Point of Sale called Square to accept both cash and credit card transactions. We do ask to be positioned close to a power source. In order to keep the bar line moving quickly, we put a 20% tip on automatically to credit card charges.
How many bartenders do i need?
With all cash bars, we reserve the right to set the number of staff you will need based on your guest count and type of event. We want to make sure all your guests are served fast! Typically we will book 1 bartender for every 75-100 guests, with a minimum of 2 bartenders. For high risk events such as college parties, we will also require you book security from Bravo1 Protection.
